11.08.05 One Rallies get a name change
As part of an effort to speak to today's youth, WAYnet has officially changed the city-wide youth rallies to be called One Events. This to help reach the unchurched teen communicating something new and relevant. The content will still flow from the belief that one passion for one Son builds one Church. WAYnet remains committed to that belief. WAYnet also remains committed to changing our methods to stay up-to-date in how we show today's teens Christ.

9.27.05 Rally at Fike "Awesome!"
When a student was asked how they liked the One rally, they responded, "It was awesome!" When asked which part, they replied, "Well, all of it, but especially the last part." The last part was referring to the final concert set by Seven Year Glitch. But the night didn't start out that way . . .
Due to car trouble, only band members Micah Hasty and Brandon were able to make it to the rally until just before the end. No problem--we'll just go acoustic. And they did!
A drama and video made by the student leadership team helped drive home the theme "Call to me," the official See You at the Pole theme for 2005. Nearly 500 students and their leaders attended the FCA co-sponsered rally at Fike Auditorium. Pamela Letchworth and Coach Drawhorn were key in making this year's See You AFTER the Pole rally a success at a non-church site. Youth and youth leaders alike were thrilled about the rally. The next rally will be at Sally B. Howard school auditorium Jan. 25, 2006.
9.21.05 See You at the Pole turnout lower than expected
Just over 400 students went to their school flagpoles to pray for this year's See You at the Pole day of prayer. (www.syatp.com) There are about 7,000 middle and high school students in Wilson County. Wilson County has seen over 800 students go to their poles in recent years.

The Swift preceeded and followed the drama with original songs as well as a series of popular praise songs. The New Beginnings youth offered a Step rountine as well. Over 550 youth and adults attended. Many responded to the invitation at the end where the students challenged all bring their sin (symbolized by a penny) to the altar. What youth leaders are saying...
